Regulars are still the stuff I’ve always listened to… Killing Joke, New Model Army, then proper old school classics like Free, Led Zep – there’s too much out there to fave?!
5. First gig you saw
Frederick Natrass Primary School recorder ensemble. Deafening! Then some hard rock band at a Spanish fiesta when I was growing up. No idea who they were but I think that was “the moment” and I knew I needed to make a noise.

Loads of Killing Joke, The Ruts, Sex Pistols, Frank Zappa at the NEC a long time ago, then the odd one like Fat Freddy’s Drop (last year, was an absolute party), Jeff Beck before his sad passing… and loads that Jon will remember better than me cos his beer memory is much better than mine…
8. Musical heroes / inspiration
As I was growing into music it was the likes of Hendrix, Jimmy Page, then I got into NMA and The Cult and all that other stuff. Professor Stanley Unwin, Frank Zappa…

Freespirit. I think I was about 13 years old.

I’ve got many “favourites”. Made in Japan and Made in Europe have a special place in my heart, I was listening to them on repeat when I was around 12 or 13. Later on, albums like The Black Album, Tool – Lateralus, Jojo Mayer – Prohibited Beats, Hiromi Uehera – Voice, Dave Weckl – Multiplicity, Fantomas – Suspended Animation, The Roots – How I Got Over, all had a big influence on me.

Local bands in my hometown, including my brother’s band! Those were big inspiration for me to improve my skills continuously.

Sletta, independent jazz singer in London

Jojo Mayer and Nerve, Hiromi Uehera with Simon Philips and Anthony Jackson, Faith No More, Tool. But I also like so many small gigs London’s got to offer.
