Dark groove for dark times

Based in London but drawn from the four points of the compass, Angerland deliver a visceral amalgam of their collective influences. Making their live debut under the Westway at the Grenfell Tower “Unity In The Community” show in 2018, the band spent the following 18 months playing shows in and around London including two in a day at the Camden Rocks Festival plus support slots with the The Dirty Strangers and Soap Girls.

In 2019, taking inspiration from the likes of Killing Joke and Ruts DC, the band took aim at the forge of rogues masquerading as our leaders when releasing the “Clown King” EP. Originally recorded just before the start of lockdown, “2020 Visions” was (belatedly!) released with its accompanying homemade video in the summer of 2022.
Following a near two-year hiatus due to Covid, geography and the loss of half the rhythm section, the band are now back up to full strength and have returned to the London gig circuit. With a fully functioning drummer, augmented by a keyboard noise-maker and still fueled by the DIY spirit of punk, they are currently recording their debut album with Tim Hamper at Viva Recorders. Following the release of their latest single “Neon Dead” in July they have recently played support slots to Evil Blizzard and Theatre of Hate – receiving great receptions and feedback from both shows. They have just returned from a couple of headline gigs in Belgium with their final gig of the year in December at the Fighting Cocks in Kingston. They are currently adding more dates, including one at the 100 Club supporting Johnny Moped, through 2025.
